1001 Nacht

Also known as: Ali-Baba | Manufactured by: Weber

1001 Nacht was a ride manufactured by German manufacturer Weber, it is similar but different from it’s cousin The Rainbow, which was developed and manufactured by Huss Rides.  Knoebels 1001 Nacht pictured at right is now defunct and has been removed from the park as of the 2019 season.  Regarding its removal, a spokesperson said “The ride is nearing the end of its operational life and ridership isn’t strong”.  Very few remain operational today and this ride is no longer manufactured.

About 1001 Nachts – Ali Baba

1001 Nachts was developed and sold by Weber Maschinenbau GMBH of Bremen Germany a now Bankrupt Company. Prior to the bankruptcy rights to manufacture and sell 1001 Nachts were obtained by Huss Maschinenfabrik GMBH & KO which is now also bankrupt. The ride is no longer manufactured but is still available as reconditioned models as well as for parts.

The ride is often mistaken for a HUSS Rainbow, while they appear similar they have a few differences. Riders were seated on opposite sides of the ride carriage facing each other, the safety restraints on this ride were air controlled made of metal and laid across your lap keeping you seated during the rides motion. The ride moved in both directions and would typically take a few cycles to make a complete rotation before switching directions.

Knoebels Description:  Swoop to new heights on this roundabout magic carpet ride! You’ll feel weightless as you swing up and around over and over again. As the gondola rotates downward, riders feel a freefall sensation. Make sure to catch a bird’s eye view of the park and the valley on this Arabian adventure.

Other Information: 1001 Nachts is often confused with the Huss Rainbow, and other similar rides, although they have similar features they are very different in the ride mechanics, how the riders are positioned.  Although the manufacturers of 1001 Nachts and the Rainbow are interconnected for various reasons the rides are not the same.
